Presenting a report on the main results of KazMunayGaz’ operations, the company’s Chairman of the Board Kairgeldy Kabyldin said that the KazMunayGaz group of companies had exceeded its production plan in 2010. To increase efficiency of the refinery’s work and ensure supply of the demanded quantity of high-quality petroleum products to the country’s domestic market, a catalyst and heat-exchange equipment of the reforming unit were replaced at the Shymkent Oil Refinery in 2010 which allowed increasing production of high-octane grade gasoline. Production of gasoline AI-92 and 96 exceeded the expected figure by 170,593 tonnes at the Shymkent Oil Refinery in 2010. According to government’s decrees «On approval of a comprehensive plan of development of Kazakhstan’s oil refineries for 2009-2015» and «On approval of a program of development of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector for 2010-2014», KazMunayGaz NC is implementing the project of modernizing and renovating the Shymkent Oil Refinery.
The project strives to recover the refinery’s estimated capacity to 6m tonnes per year, increase the depth of oil refining to 90%, improve the quality of petroleum products to Euro-4,5 standards and decrease emission of contaminating substances into the environment. Development and approval of the feasibility study of the Shymkent Oil Refinery’s modernization and renovation project are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2011. Kabyldin said that in the framework of the program for construction of 50 multi-functional sports playgrounds this year, KazMunayGaz would build a sports playground for children in the Saryagash village of the South Kazakhstan region so that they could play soccer, volleyball, basketball and other team sports. During the meeting President of PKOP Asylbek Karibayev said that the company provided its employees with wide perspectives for studying and development. Over 70m tenge will be spent on social and education programs for the Shymkent Oil Refinery’s employees this year. Over 112m tenge will be allocated for social transfers to employees in 2011 including payment of vacation packages to sanatoriums, payment of supplementary grants to employees on maternity leaves, allocations to retired people and dependents and payment of medical insurance.
