Early in September 2008 Astana hosted the III Eurasian Energy Forum with a main theme of “Global Challenges – Energy Solutions”. The Forum was participated by Kazakhstan Prime-minister, Karim Masimov, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Sayat Mynbayev, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Mekhmet Khilmi Guyler, and many other government dignitaries, representatives from Kazakhstan and foreign business communities, diplomatic and expert circles. The PetroKazakhstan group of companies was represented by the following officials: VP, Bakhytzhan Issengaliyev (PKOSI), VP, Jiang Shi (PKOP), VP, Azamat Akishev (PKOP), VP Guo Yi (M&T), VP Fang Jiazhong (PKKR), Capital Construction and Projects Director, Abdulla Abenov (PKKR) and Director of HR and Administration, Erlan Zhalgasov (PKKR). The PetroKazakhstan representatives actively participated in the forum and made speeches. The PKKR Vice-president, Mr Fang Jiazhong spoke on the PKKR Gas Utilization Program, while the Vice-president for marketing and transportation, Mr Guo Yi spoke on Oil Pipelines: transportation safety through improved mutual trust and cooperation. The speeches attracted great interest from both the Kazakhstan participants as well as the foreign guests. On the whole, the forum helped company representatives make many new business acquaintances and at the same time strengthen relations with existing partners.
