The annual Olympics held by Petro Kazakhstan Kumkol Resources has once again proved that the company is busy not only by mineral resources development, but also actively participates in public life in the region. And it’s involved both, in region social development, and healthy lifestyle promotion.
Olympics featured five sports and was held at PetroKazakhstan sports complex and High School No.2, mentored by the company. The competition featured table tennis, chess, badminton and mini-football. Volleyball players competed for the best team title at school No. 2.
Representatives of PetroKazakhstan Overseas Services Inc. from Almaty and PetroKazakhstan Oil Products from Shymkent participated in the Olympics along with Kyzylorda Branch.
Kyzylorda oilmen were leading in all sports except for table tennis. “East or west, home is best” saying has proven itself once again. Especially because Kyzylorda team was supported both, by colleague-fans and their families.
All participants received valuable prizes and souvenirs.
PKKR football team held a friendly mini-football match against Kyzylorda Akimat next day, after Olympics was over. The game was exciting, oilmen’s team won the game, though Akimat team showed good play. And this is not surprising, since participants confirmed that they exercise regularly and it is not the first year they play for the company. It should be noted that success has not come to PKKR athletes by chance. The sports complex is headed by a big fan of sports, Anatoly Litvinov. There one can choose from tennis, badminton, indoor football, shaping, table tennis, martial arts, and sport dance for adults and kids. About 600 people are enlisted, and they are not only PKKR employees, but children from underprivileged families, Afghan war and Chernobyl veterans, and people of other social background who go there for free.
