Mass media awarding ceremony was held in PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources conference hall within the context of celebrating 25 years of Kumkol’s industrial development.
Mass media contest aimed to encourage publishing articles about Kumkol development history and PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources prospects in electronic and print media.
Ten regional media reporters competed in the contest, and 12 articles were published from July 5 to September 10, 2011.
The works were evaluated by an independent jury consisting of administration representatives from Kyzylorda State University named after Korkyt ata. The following evaluation criteria were applied: professionalism of TV programs and publications, materials coherency, thorough use of expressive techniques, accurate accents placement, conformity with the topic observed, novelty and professionalism in creative task solving, issues analyzed deeply and disclosed adequately, clarity, logical relevance, style, language, presentation, technical quality, independence of author’s concept, accuracy and reliability of information contained in the publication or audiovisual work.
The Syr Boyi newspaper journalists Gulzhazira Zhalgassova and Elubay Auezov, and The Halyk newspaper journalist Nazerke Saniyazova became the winners in the nomination “Best Print Media Publication in the Kazakh Language.”
Winners of “The Best Print Media Publication in the Russian Language” nomination became Natalia Denisova, the editor in chief of the regional Komu Chto Newspaper, Timur Kassimov, the editor in chief of the regional Kyzylordinskie Vesti newspaper, and Igor Titenok, editor of the Economics column of the Kyzylordinskie Vesti.
The winners were awarded with diplomas and prizes. Other contestants also got their share of the cake. They received consolation prizes on behalf of the company.
