2023
The V International Digital Forum Digital Almaty: Digital Partnership in a New Reality took place in Almaty. At this Forum, PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC received the Tech GardenAwards-2022 in the Best Environmental Project nomination for its industrial digitalization project.
2022
The President of PetroKazakhstan Inc. and PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC, Mr. Yang Mingyu, received the medal of KAZENERGY Association.
KAZENERGY Association awarded 10 employees of PKKR and PKOP with various awards.
PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC HSE Group Leader Ms. Svetlana Turemanova won the second place and a prestigious occupational safety and health award, the Best Engineer certificate in the Best HSE Service nomination at SENIM-2022 National HSE Contest for Employers.
PKKR’s HSE Department Head Mr. Izteleuov Torybai was awarded the certificate of merit from JSC NC KazMunayGaz for the best performance and contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry.
2021
PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP won of Paryz-2021 Annual Republican Competition in the area of business social responsibility, in the Best Collective Agreement category.
More than 60 refinery employees received state awards, medals and letters of gratitude from Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry and the city Akimat, as well as commemorative tokens and certificates of merit from JSC NC KMG and PKOP management on the Petroleum Industry Workers Day and the 30-th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan for high performance in creating safe work environment. PKOP employees Kulmakhanbetov, Shagyrbayev and Baimakhanov were awarded medals For the 30-th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.168 PKKR employees received various awards from the regional and city level authorities and from the Company management on the eve of the 30-th Anniversary of the Independence Day of Kazakhstan, on the professional holidays such as Geologist’s Day, Petroleum Industry Workers Day, and Power Engineer’s Day. PKKR construction work manager, Serik Baimuratov, was awarded the Eren Enbegi Ushin Medal (For Valorous Labor). PKKR’s Deputy Chairman of the Board for Technical Issues, Galym Baimanov, and the Director for Government Relations, Tleubergen Shautai, were awarded the medals For the 30-th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
KAZENERGY Association awarded 15 employees of PKOP with the letters of gratitude for active participation in PetroKazakhstan’s Covid-19 prevention campaign.
The President of PetroKazakhstan Inc. and PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC, Mr. Yang Mingyu, received a high award, the medal of the Energy Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2021.
2020
Various awards from the regional and city level authorities and from the Company management were given to 159 PKKR employees on the eve of the Independence Day of Kazakhstan, on the professional holidays such as Geologist’s Day, Petroleum Industry Workers Day, Power Engineer’s Day, and on the 115-th anniversary of the trade union movement of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
An oil and gas production operator of the 5-th category of Kumkol oilfield Yerbolat Salymov became the Best Oil and Gas Production Operator at the industry review competition Munai-gaz ondirisinin ozaty-2019 (“Oil and Gas Production Performance of 2019”) organized by the Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Industrial Trade Union. The participants of this competition were 17 operators from various oil companies.
Akim of Kazalinsky district of Kyzylorda region awarded PKKR with the Sponsor of the Year certificate for rendering the significant sponsor aid during the pandemic.
PKOP operator of process workshop No. 1 Aidar Amreyev received a state award Eren Enbegi Ushin Medal (For Valorous Labor) for high performance and maintaining safe work environment. 5 employees were awarded the letters of gratitude from the Energy Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the certificates of honor and commemorative tokens from JSC NC KazMunayGaz on the Petroleum Industry Workers Day.
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded the letter of gratitude to PKOP for the participation in Paryz-2020 Annual Republican Competition in the area of business social responsibility later that year. The management of PKOP received the letters of gratitude on behalf of the mayor and the deputies of Shymkent for active participation in coronavirus prevention campaign and assistance during the fight against Covid-19. National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC awarded a certificate to PKOP for active participation in the Uzdik Volunteer Top movement (The Best Volunteer Group), and JSC NC KazMunayGaz awarded the certificate of merit For the Active Participation of the Volunteer Movement in Social Projects Implementation.
PKOP won the 1-st place among the oil refining companies of Kazakhstan in the Environmental Transparency Rating of Kazakhstan’s Oil and Gas Companies. 2020 Results. WWF and the United Nations Environment Program are the instigators of this rating. The Environmental Transparency Rating was held among the oil and gas companies of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.
2019
In 2019, PKKR was awarded with the letters of gratitude from the Akimat and the Department of Emergency Situations of Kyzylorda region for participation in flood control activities on the Syr Darya River.
Firefighting service of PKKR was awarded by the letter of gratitude of the Department of Emergency Situations of Kyzylorda region, as the best non-governmental firefighting service of the region. On the occasion of the 120-th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s oil, 6 employees of the HSE Department of PKKR were awarded with the anniversary medal Kazakhstan munaiyna 120 zhyl of the Energy Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 4 employees were awarded with the certificate of honor of Kazmunaigazprofsoyuz JSC, and 1 employee received a letter of gratitude from the regional maslikhat.
PKOP was awarded with a special certificate and a winner’s cup for high performance in creating safe work environment for its employees in a competition Distinguished Safe Enterprise organized in commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
State awards, medals and certificates of honor were awarded to the management and employees of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP for their achievements in production activities on the occasion of the 120-th anniversary of Kazakhstan oil. PKOP employees became winners of the Uzdik Maman professional contest held in the Russian Federation.
On the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, PKOP was awarded first place in the nomination Best Occupational Health and Safety Service, organized among the companies of Shymkent. During the V Forum of General Directors of JSC NC KazMunayGaz, PKOP received the Award for the High Level of Safety and the Certificate For the High Level of Safety at Work for achieving exceptional safety performance in 2018.
The management and employees of PetroKazakhstan were awarded various awards and badges of honor on the occasion of the 120-th anniversary of Kazakhstan oil and on the professional holiday Petroleum Industry Workers Day.
Mr. Huang Xianxiong, President of PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC and PetroKazakhstan Inc., was awarded an honorary jubilee medal Kazakhstan munaiyna 120 zhyl of the Energy Ministry of Kazakhstan for his contribution to the development of the energy industry. The awarding took place in Nur-Sultan at Kazakhstan Energy Week-2019.
In addition, over 500 veterans of production and distinguished employees of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP, PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC and Kolzhan received various awards for their labor contribution, including anniversary medals, certificates of honor, and letters of gratitude on behalf of the Energy Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NC KazMunayGaz, KAZENERGY Association, Samruk-Kazyna Fund JSC, the Akim of Kyzylorda region, mayors of Kyzylorda and Shymkent, maslikhats of the region and the city, Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Industry Trade Union, and etc.

2018
PKKR won the first place in the Best HSE Service nomination in SENIM National HSE Contest for Employers.
PKKR won the 3-rd place among 16 top oil and gas companies of Kazakhstan in the First Annual Environmental Responsibility Rating of Oil and Gas Companies of Kazakhstan, organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) of Russia and KREON Group with the support of the United Nations Environment Program in Central Asia (UNEP CA) and the Kazakh Ministry of Environment. The main participants were compared by the following criteria: environmental management, environmental impact and information disclosure/transparency.
PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP was awarded with a special certificate and a winner’s cup for high performance in creating safe work environment for its employees in a competition Distinguished Safe Enterprise organized in commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. PKOP’s management and workers received governmental awards, medals and certificates of merit for their contribution to industrial development and Shymkent Refinery Modernization and Refurbishment Project implementation.
On the Petroleum Industry Workers Day, 95 best employees of PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC and Kolzhan received awards from the Kazakh Energy Ministry, JSC NC KazMunayGaz, KAZENERGY Association, Samruk-Kazyna Fund JSC, administration of Kyzylorda region, Maslikhat of Kyzylorda region, executive bodies of the city of Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Industrial Trade Union, and the Company’s top management.
2017
The management of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) awarded the distinguished employees of all business units with honorary medals and letters of gratitude For Contribution to the Development of Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation in the Oil and Gas Industry during festivities dedicated to the 20-th anniversary of cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the oil and gas industry.
The Company’s contribution to the development of regions and the merits of PKKR and PKOP employees is recognized at the republican and local levels every year. PKOP refinery was recognized as the Safest Plant of Shymkent in 2017.
Yskak Beibit, PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC technical inspector, won the 2-nd place as the Best HSE Technical Inspector at SENIM–2017 republican HSE contest for employers.
2016
In celebration of the 25-th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the RoK Energy Ministry, JSC NC KazMunayGaz and KazMunayGaz Refining & Marketing awarded medals For Contribution to Oil and Gas Sector Development and For the 25-th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, commemorative tokens, certificates of merit and letters of gratitude to 18 PKOP employees.
In celebration of the 30-th anniversary of Kumkol field commercial development, the RoK Energy Ministry, KAZENERGY Association, JSC Exploration & Production KazMunayGaz, CNPC, the Kyzylorda region and Kyzylorda City Akimats, and the Kyzylorda region Chamber of Entrepreneurs awarded medals For Contribution to Oil and Gas Sector Development, Veteran Worker medals, Honored Worker of Oil and Gas Industry award pins, certificates of merit and letters of gratitude to 147 PKKR employees. The company management also awarded 66 PKKR employees with letters of gratitude.
PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP became a winner of the Paryz Annual Republican Competition in the area of business social responsibility. The Competition Awarding Committee of the RoK Ministry of Health and Social Development selected Shymkent Oil Refinery as the best company in the Contribution to Ecology nomination.
2015
The RoK Energy Ministry awarded medals For Contribution to Oil and Gas Sector Development to 3 PKKR employees. The certificates of merit, letters of gratitude and Honored Worker of Oil and Gas Industry award pins were awarded to 9 PKKR employees. Meanwhile, the Energy Ministry of Kazakhstan awarded Enbek Ardageri (Veteran Worker) Medals to 13 PKKR retirees, and Kyzylorda region administration and Kyzylorda city mayor awarded letters of gratitude to 16 employees.
PKOP’s 217 employees received the Eren Enbegi Ushin Medals (For Valorous Labor), commemorative tokens, certificates of merit and letters of gratitude from JSC NC KazMunayGaz, KazMunayGaz-Refining and Marketing JSC, Samruk Kazyna and RoK Energy Ministry in commemoration of the 30-th Anniversary of PKOP. The top management of the Company also awarded the certificates of merit to 194 PKOP employees.
The energy management system of PKKR was successfully certified for compliance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 50001:2011. This standard provides energy efficiency and saving methods considered the best in the world and allowing companies to reduce their power consumption and expenses and meet the environmental protection requirements
- Yemberdiyev, HSE Director, and S. Zharkimbekov, Head of Environmental Protection Group, with their Project on Biological Reclamation of Oil Contaminated Soil and Pyrophoric Iron Sulfide Deactivation won the third place at the contest The Best Innovative Ideas and Practices in the Field of Health, Safety and Environment of JSC NC KazMunayGaz Group of Companies. Also, PKOP became first at the review competition dedicated to the Best Practices in Occupational Safety and Health among organizations in the South Kazakhstan region.
2014
In honor of the professional holiday Petroleum Industry Workers Day, JSC NC KazMunayGaz, Samruk-Kazyna and the RoK Energy Ministry awarded medals For Contribution to Oil and Gas Sector Development, certificates of merit, a badge of honor from KazMunayGaz, and Honored Worker of Oil and Gas Industry award pins to 7 PKKR employees and 14 PKOP employees. In addition, 30 PKOP employees were awarded the certificates of merit from the Company leadership.
PKOP refinery was recognized as the Safest Plant of Shymkent in 2014.
PKKR became the laureate of Altyn Sapa Presidential Award for achievements in the product quality and safety, and introducing highly efficient quality management techniques.
2013
PKKR ranked among TOP-10 leading companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan based on the nation-wide statistical ranking of business entities in two nominations. Within the framework of this project the Company received a National Certificate and a Kazakhstan Leader 2013 medal, and Mr. Fang Jiazhong, Chairman of the Board of PKKR, was awarded the Glory of Kazakhstan Order.
As part of Petroleum Industry Workers Day celebration, KAZENERGY Association awarded its medals, certificates of merit and letters of gratitude to 11 employees of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products and 10 employees of PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources. Also, in honor of the professional holiday NC KazMunayGaz, Samruk-Kazyna and the RoK Ministry of Oil and Gas awarded a medal For Contribution to Oil and Gas Sector Development, certificates of merit, a badge of honor from KazMunayGaz and an award pin Honored Worker of Oil and Gas Industry to 9 employees of the refinery.PetroKazakhstan’s Munaishy Magazine was recognized as the country’s best corporate publication in the oil and gas industry as part of the KAZENERGY Association competition, and PKOP was awarded certificates of honor in the Social Responsibility Prize and Environmental Safety Prize nominations.
An international economic forum of leading companies from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus organized by the National Business Rating, took place at the Palace of Independence in Astana. Mr. Fan Jiazhong, the Chairman of the Board of PKKR, was awarded the National Certificate Kazakhstan Leader-2013 during this event.
2012
Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, highly esteemed the merits to the state of Mr. Wei Yuxiang, President of PKI and the First Vice President of PKOP, and of Mr. Bakhytzhan Issengaliyev, the Vice President for Public Relations, by awarding them with the Order Dostyk (Friendship) of the 2nd degree and the Order Kurmet (Honor), respectively. Recognition of the contribution to the country’s development at such a high level is not only an honor, but also demonstrates the fact that the state leaders appreciate the role PetroKazakhstan plays in the development of the regions where it operates, and the Republic in general.
**The Dostyk Order is awarded for fruitful work to preserve mutual harmony in society, for strengthening peace, friendship and cooperation among nations.
**The Kurmet Order is awarded for merits in developing the economy, social sphere, science and culture, education, for exemplary service in government authorities and active social position.
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded the certificate of merit to Mr. Jiang Shi, Vice President for Production of PKOP, following the results of Senim-2012 Republican Competition in occupational safety and health among employers.
PKKR was successfully certified for compliance with the requirements of the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007. Russian Register auditing company presented a report confirming the compliance of PKKR’s HSE Management System with international standards.
2011
- PetroKazakhstan received the Ar-Namys (Sense of Conscience) award as the best company in the Stable Social Standing category in 2011, which was instigated and first held by KAZENERGY Association. The energy sector companies which were able to demonstrate a sustainable position and systematic approach in the area of corporate social responsibility in the course of their work were nominated for this award. The downstream unit of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP received the Golden Paryz Award from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the category For Contribution to the Environment in the same year. PetroKazakhstan took the 4-th place in the rating of the 100 largest companies in Kazakhstan according to Expert-Kazakhstan Rating Agency, rising one step above the similar rating of the previous year. PetroKazakhstan was rated among the Top 50 Companies of Kazakhstan with the best reputation (according to the Exclusive Magazine) and among the 500 largest companies in Kazakhstan (according to the National Business Magazine). The anniversary medal 20 Years of Independence of Kazakhstan, a certificate of merit from NC KazMunayGaz, an anniversary medal, certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from KAZENERGY, and a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Oil and Gas were awarded to the best employees of the Company by the Decree of the President of Kazakhstan in celebration of the 20-th Anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence for their significant contribution to the development and building of the nationhood and strengthening the sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan. All awards demonstrate that the professionalism and skills of our employees are recognized far beyond the Company.
2009
In September 2009, PKKR won the Golden Prometheus award in the Best Environmental Program nomination in the industry-wide competition, which was held during the Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Week by KAZENERGY.
PKKR was announced the Philanthropist of 2009 for its contribution to the social sphere of Kyzylorda region.
PKKR won the Nation-Wide Public Competition in Health and Safety in the Best Company/Business nomination, organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan awarded PKOP with the Best Company/Business certificate and a group of plant workers with the Best Public Inspector for Labor Safety certificates.
PKKR won the first prize in the Nation-Wide Public Competition in Health and Safety organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
PKOSI was successfully certified for compliance with the requirements of international standards OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004.
2008
PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources JSC participated in Paryz Annual Republican Competition in the area of business social responsibility and won a silver medal as the Best Socially Responsible Company.
PKKR won the Nation-Wide Public Competition in Health and Safety in the Best Company/Business nomination organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2005
