The children recreational camp, Aray Sunrise, of the PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources Company, welcomed children from 12 cities in our country to the third country-wide economic session, Career. Winners of republican Olympic games on basics of economics, winners of international and republican economic games and all those who love economics came to the recreational camp. School students had a course on basics of economics in the framework of the Junior Achievement Kazakhstan program. The children had trainings, model games, projects like Banks in Action, Titan, Let’s build Our Future Together, and Economic Workshop during a week. Irina Kan (Kyzylorda) and Raya Kasmaganbet (Astana) were coaches.
The program was full of events, and that is why the children did not have a free minute. As usual, the economic session had an unemployment office and a parliament. Each of the ten companies had its own president, accountant and a member of parliament. The children developed a special friendship after the Economic marathon role game. They showed not only their knowledge of economics in it but also their team work. Every day in the camp was unlike any other – it was full of new games and various team events. The patriotic event entitled Kazakhstan – 20 Years of Independence was particularly memorable to the school students. It was a staged show where children demonstrated the making of the independent republic, its economic transformation stages and traditions of the Kazakh people. The game entitled Pocket Money – a Necessity or a Flirt where children offered various services (beauty saloons, taxi and others) and earned money was successful. The best students from Pavlodar, Karaganda, Astana, Atyrau, Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktobe, Zhambyl, Shymkent, Petropavlovsk, Uralsk and Kyzylorda received medals. The children who distinguished themselves in contests were awarded diplomas in such nominations as Leader, Creative Personality, Economics Expert, Best Player in the Banks in Action Game, and Best Titan Player. The participants of the Junior Achievement Kazakhstan program expressed their gratitude to PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources’ management for its support in this project. The third country-wide session was over but every participant in it brought back a part of the Aray Sunrise camp. Because this is the place everyone would like to come back to again.
