From September 5 till 7, 2008 annual sport competitions on charity project “BG Energy Challenge 2008 – Kazakhstan” were held on the territory of national park “Borovoye”. Competitions were organized by “BG Kazakhstan” Company under the auspices of REDROCK International. 36 Teams, representing the Companies related to energy sector of Kazakhstan participated in two-day competitions of “BG Energy Challenge 2008 –Kazakhstan” project. This project is being implemented by “BG Kazakhstan” Company in our republic already for the third year and is an international team sport event. Such events are annually held in Great Britain, Egypt, Oman, Trinidad and Tobago as well. The main purpose of charity project is the fund raising for National Paralympics Committee of RK for participation of Kazakhstan sportsmen in international competitions. This year sport competitions attracted near 200 employees from different companies of the country for participation: “KazMunaiGaz”, Air Astana, Agip KSO, Deloitte, PetroKazakhstan, Shell, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, KEGOC, ExxonMobil, Worley Parsons, ConocoPhillips, “KazTrans-Gaz”, BI-Group, Schlumberger, “Intergaz Central Asia”, “Grata”, Amec, “Samek International” and two Teams of republican MSM journalists as well, – “Kursiv”, “Kazakhstanskaya pravda”, “Novoye pokoleniye”, “Kapital”, “Europa plus Kazakhstan”, “Info-Ces”, “MK v Kazakhstane”, “Yapyray”. This year Team members competed in land navigation on foot and by bicycle by means of GPS-navigator, crossing 15 control points one after another; in passing by rope bridges; sailing in boats at night time; resolving logical and strategic problems. Physical endurance, logical thinking, resistance to stress, skill of finding the optimal solutions of assigned tasks during the short time – are institutions of success in such competitions. By results of 5 stages of competitions the prizes found their winners in the following categories: – Winner in overall standings – Karachaganak 1; – the best women’s Team – Worley Parsons Economics; – the best men’s Team – BG Kazakh Stallions; – the best mixed Team – BG ZAVAL; – under 30 years of age – Worley Parsons One Way; – +200 – Snow Leopards Amec LLP; – the best team spirit – COPS ConocoPhillips; – Cup of Charity – Karachaganak Petroleum Operating. Team members of PetroKazakhstan Company took the fifth medal place. The following employees participated in the Team for PKOP, LLP: Talgat Kairbekov, Specialist, Customs Clearance Group, CTG, Vladimir Romanenko, Duty Pointsman, Railway Site, CTG, Nurzhan Tulembetov, Specialist, Materials and Procurement Team and Ruslan Onerov, Forwarder, Materials Management Team. All raised funds will be forwarded to the Fund of National Paralympics Committee of RK.
