On 1st of June, 2009, PKOP TOO held a solemn signing ceremony to execute contracts for construction and installation activities under the project aimed at relocation of the waste water evaporation pond from the area of the Koksarai impoundment to Ordabasy District of South Kazakhstan Oblast. An open tender for these operations identified the following winners: A&K Story TOO and Geo Arkh Proyekt TOO that are properly licensed and have experience in implementation of similar work and a sufficient material and technical basis. PKOP TOO will spend about 440 million tenge on the construction part of this project. The contractors committed to complete the whole work scope under the contracts before October 1, 2009.

PetroKazakhstan Oil Products TOO fully backs up the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding the need to establish the Koksarai impoundment in South Kazakhstan Oblast. Therefore the company management pays special attention to timely construction of the waste water evaporation pond on a new allocated site by coordinating all necessary actions in relation thereto with supervising ministries and the SKO Akimat.
