PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources is a socially responsible company that actively participates in the development of the social sphere of the region, as well as in many charity and sponsorship events held in the Kyzylorda region.

One of the priorities for PKKR is to increase the efficiency and social significance of charitable and sponsorship events aimed at improving the welfare of society and the development of social infrastructure. The main criterion of this work is targeted, directed aid. At the same time, special attention is paid to long-term programs, support to vulnerable groups of the population, children, war and labor veterans, disabled people, the health care system, institutions of sports, culture and art.

Annual traditional charitable projects of the company:

Promotion for the New Year and Nauryz Meiramy for the distribution of food packages to 180 pensioners of the company, employees injured at work and families who have lost their bread earner. Celebration of June 1st – International Children’s Day. The company fully finances the holiday, buys 5 000 ice creams and prizes for all children’s contests organized by the city’s education department.

On the eve of the school year, within the framework of the campaigns “First Grader” and “Road to School”, the company presents more than 100 children from poor and large families of the region with schoolbags with a full set of school supplies. 

Since 1998, the company has supported, and since 2001 has fully financed the Shapagat Rehabilitation center for disabled children in the Aiteke bi village of the Kazaly region.

Also, since 2001, the company has been fully supported (funds for feeding children and maintaining a kindergarten) a 50-bed kindergarten “Balgyn” for children from large and low-income families, as well as orphans at the public fund “Baldauren” in Zhanakorgan region.

In June 2015, thanks to help from PetroKazakhstan, the last orphanage was closed in the Kyzylorda region – after all, a family-type Children’s village for orphans and children left without parental care appeared in the region. The first such project in Kazakhstan, the children’s village consists of eight two-storied residential buildings that can accommodate up to 80 children, and one administrative building. Today it is home to 57 children between the ages of three and 18. In the village, 25 employees work and help pupils to take their first steps into adulthood. PKKR JSC financed the design and construction of a children’s village. Assistance in material and technical support was provided by Kolzhan LLP, all funds were transferred to the corporate fund “Igilik” within the framework of the Memorandum of mutual cooperation in the social and economic development of the Kyzylorda region.

In 2015-2016, PKKR JSC acted as one of the sponsors of the project of republican significance “Design and construction of the building of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography in Nur-Sultan” within the framework of an agreement between the Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2020, in a difficult year for the country during a pandemic, as part of helping the Kyzylorda region in the fight against COVID-19, PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources allocated funds for the installation of an oxygen station in the Kazaly interregional hospital.
