Scholarship program to support talented youth from the Kyzylorda Oblast
“PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources” JSC since 2005 implemented the Scholarship program for talented youth of Kyzylorda oblast, which provided obtaining the bachelor’s degree in the most popular for the company specialties of oil and gas industry in full time education. In connection with financial difficulties, related with fall in oil price, this educational program has been suspended from 2016 to the present.
The scholarship program of “PetroKazakhstan” was created with support of Akimat of Kyzylorda oblast. During its existence, 115 Kazakh students were awarded the title of the Scholar of PetroKazakhstan Scholarship program.
Most of the lucky ones studied in Chinese University of oil in Beijing. This is the first university in the oil industry of China and it is rightly called alma mater for oil industry and cradle of oil and gas engineers. With Chinese University of oil, the company “PetroKazakhstan” has established cooperation in the sphere of specialists training and improving the qualification of company’s operating personnel in 2006. This friendship turned to be very fruitful – annually up to ten scholars of PetroKazakhstan holders sit at the university desks, and about a thousand of company employees passed upgrade training course.

Presently the above stated 19 students study on Scholarship program in People’s Republic of China and another 46 participants of the program have already completed the training and work in “PetroKazakhstan” Company.
Within the cooperation with Akimat of Kyzylorda oblast, “PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources” JSC in 2017 finances the training of 6 students in “Federal state autonomous educational institution of higher professional education “National research technological university of MISis” in Moscow.
Under this program, the Company finances the students’ expenses on training, accommodation, monthly scholarships, and medical insurance. Within the framework of financing the training of six students of MISis from 2014 to 2017, “PKKR” JSC invested more than 14 million tenge.
