A Memorandum was signed with the Akimat of Shymkent in 2020, under which PKOP LLP allocated 200 million tenge to support the city during the Coronavirus pandemic. In association with the Shymkent – Kaiyrymdy Kala Social Foundation, PKOP LLP provided humanitarian supplies with the delivery of 10,000 medical masks and 1,000 protective overalls to the provisional hospital of municipal hospital No. 2. It should be noted that in September 2020, the shareholders of PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP, NC KazMunayGas JSC and the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) jointly transferred 50 oxygen concentrators to the Health Department of Shymkent as humanitarian aid for further distribution to the municipal medical institutions.
In addition, PKOP LLP provided assistance to the Shekteusiz Umit Public Foundation for it to carry out rehabilitation procedures for disabled children.
In previous years, PKOP LLP allocated over 400,000 US dollars for the construction of the Central Sterilization Complex in Shymkent under the Memorandum of Cooperation. The Complex with spacious rooms is equipped with modern devices and new equipment. Thanks to the support of the Company, electronic equipment, bicycles, strollers and toys that are in line with international safety standards were purchased for the ‘Mother and Child’ Rehabilitation Center for HIV-infected Children and the Baby House. Under the same Memorandum, the company provided timely financial support to the community of the Saryagash District by transferring 100,000,000 tenge for the restoration of flood-damaged school buildings, houses and bridges in the district. Medical and sports equipment was transferred to children’s correctional institutions in Shymkent to support children’s health.
The regional children’s hospital received charitable support in the amount of 1,500,000 tenge to equip the hospital with medical equipment and create an artificial halo chamber – a salt room. Over the last 10 years, the Company allocated about 20,000,000 tenge for purchase of equipment for, repair of medical institutions in South Kazakhstan.
The Company looks after health of its employees and pays for their annual medical and recreational holidays health resort institutions. Also, every year the children of the employees of the Refinery are provided with vouchers to children’s camps. For these purposes, PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP annually allocates over 40,000,000 tenge.
The Veterans Association of the region has been allocated funds for basic necessities and for the purchase of necessary medicines. Also, veterans of the Turkestan Region were connected to the satellite TV channel OTAU TV at the expense of the Company.
Over the past 10 years, the company has provided support in the amount of more than 38,000,000 tenge to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, labour veterans and soldiers – internationalists.
